WINDOWS DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

(Updated 03/11/09)
NEW INSTRUCTIONS FOR DUKE EMAIL CAPABILITY
The OEM Duke Toxicology Program, in collaboration with Droege Computing Services offers a Windows version of the ACMI database management system. The current version of the ACMI Windows Database Management System is 3.5. This version was released in January 2009. The member and associate member versions were released initially in June 1999. During the period June 1999-June 2000, the enhancement of these versions has been accomplished through continued beta-testing and end user feedback. The toxicologist version went live in September 2000. The system can be purchased through ACMI and shipped at the regular charge of $525 (if ordered August through December) and $450 (if ordered January through July).
The benefits of an ACMI member purchasing this system are numerous. The most obvious advantage the system offers is substantial savings in time and money. For the company that produces a large number of products, the ACMI windows database management system can provide the end user the ability to submit new product formulations and changes electronically vs. manually. This saves money for the member in two ways, by saving your time as well as the additional cost of entering the information into the Duke system manually vs. electronically. Another advantage to using the database management system is the information that is now available at your fingertips. The system comes with both the certification file and the toxicity file providing invaluable insight into ingredients that the customer will use in the composition of their products. It also allows the member to obtain information on the permissible percentage of an ingredient allowed in a product before labeling is required. With the Windows database management system, you can "pre-screen" your formulations, notifying you of potential labeling requirements before submission. This single step can save you months of work if you are able to reformulate prior to submitting for approval.
The recommended system requirements necessary to operate the ACMI windows database management system are 100 megabytes of available disk space, 128 megabytes of RAM, a Pentium 4 processor, a CD-ROM drive, and a 17-in monitor with 1024 x 768 resolution. Minimum operating system Windows 98, but Windows 2000 or Windows XP are recommmended.
